- Learning and practising techniques to manage worries/anxiety.
- Confidence boosting skills.
- A supportive space to discuss and explore what starting secondary school will be like using my years of experience working in that environment
- Learning how our brain processes information from the outside world to enable children to reframe situations positively.
- Using NLP techniques to identify and overcome limiting beliefs by enabling a growth mindset e.g. 'I don't make new friends easily' becomes 'I can make new friends'
- Navigating new friendships and skills to manage different personalities.
- Personalised tool kit of techniques and strategies to enable a confident start to secondary school.
Course Information
Ensuring that children are equipped to start secondary school can be vital to helping them settle in to their new environment. Boosting confidence and equipping them with tools that help to nurture a growth mindset and managing their big emotions for the upcoming change is arguably just as important as their new uniform, school bag and equipment.
When? This course will run between July - September
How many sessions? There will be six sessions. Five are in person and will be held at Katherine Warrington School, Harpenden with the remaining session on zoom.
How big will the group be? It will be a small group setting of up to 10 children.
Will there be support for parents? Absolutely! You are their biggest support network. This will be discussed in detail on the zoom call.
How much is the course? £199 (£33 per session)

What is NLP?
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. It looks at:
- how we take in information
- how we process and filter that information
- how information impacts our thoughts & behaviours
- how we communicate with others
- identifying what we want to achieve and using the above techniques to help achieve it
NLP focuses on working with your unconscious mind, as 95% of our thoughts and behaviours originate in this part of the brain. NLP doesn’t involve in-depth discussions on feelings, instead it provides a selection of tools to help you reach your goals.
