Navigating the teenage years can be a tricky time. When teenagers face certain challenges it’s not uncommon for them to think ‘it’s only happening to me’, and can therefore be reluctant to get help. Speaking to someone you don’t know can feel hugely daunting, which is why I have put together a downloadable document that can be found at the bottom of this page to help teens and tweens understand what’s involved in the sessions.
My main aim is to enable young people understand their feelings and thoughts and help them to see the choices that are open to them. My objective is to empower them so that they feel more in control of their lives by showing them a range of tools and techniques that they can use for many years to come.
The majority of feedback I get is that teens really enjoy my sessions as I am teaching them a skill which is very different from attending counselling sessions; they don’t have to talk at length about the issues they are facing.
I support teenagers on a range of topics including low confidence, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, body image and phobias.
I recommend approx 6-8 sessions, each lasting 50-60 minutes.
